THE WAR OF SAINTS VS. SAIYANS - A Crossover Story by Magno & Ericka
PRELUDE: Dragon Earth Age 737 / Athens, Greece December 1, 1973
The Pope sat in his throne in the chamber safeguarding the entrance to Athena’s room, wherein lies the reincarnated baby, Athena. The doors were shut and cloaked with burgundy curtains. The Pope himself was clad in a long navy-blue robes that covered his entire body, his shoulders adorned with spiked red guards, and his head and head, hair and face concealed by a red helmet, and dark blue mask bearing only the barest silhouette of a mysterious face; empty eyes, nose, and stony lips. Before him knelt three knights, more aptly known as Saints, young boys clad in gold armors, more famously known in Greece as Cloths. Each Gold Cloth bore a design of its constellation, Cancer, Capricornus, and Pisces, beautifully forged since times of myth.
Between the three Gold Saints and Pope stood a large, intricately designed silver cup, known for watering down wine in ancient Greece, but also able to predict the future on the reflection of its water’s surface.
“I have summoned you here because you are loyal to our cause, and you are loyal to justice,” said The Pope, “but the Crater has foretold my defeat at the hand of five young youths thirteen years from now.”
The Pisces Saint, a young man of long aqua locks, and pale skin widened his striking blue eyes. His name was Aphrodite. “How can this be?” he said.
The boy next to him, the Cancer Gold Saint known as Deathmask looked at the silver cup, “has it ever been wrong?”
“Not since times of myth, and even if it were, it is not a risk I would be willing to take,” said The Pope.
“Of course,” said the Capricornus saint, a man called Shura of spiky black hair, fierce dark eyes, and his brow adorned with a golden horned circlet, “what is your plan, Pope?’
“The Crater’s powers of foreshadowing are limited to what destiny wants me to see, so in my travels across other dimensions, I have discovered an even more powerful relic than the Crater,” The Pope said.
The three Gold Saints looked surprised The Pope had traveled through alternate dimensions, but their young eyes were glued to him like children to a television waiting for what his next words would reveal.
“Dragon Balls,” said The Pope.
“Dragon Balls?” said Shura, arching a skeptical brow.
“They originate from an Earth in another dimension known as Dragon World,” said The Pope.
“So, it’s another Earth, not an alien world,” said Shura.
“Yes, it is mainly inhabited by Earthlings, but I have also seen anthropomorphic beings, and monsters.”
“Monsters?” said Aphrodite, wide-eyed.
“It is not hostile. There are cities resembling Chinese buildings, it largely resembles Asia, including Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Central Asian, Arabic and Indonesian cultures. The rural lands are where I saw monsters, I believe modern day paleontologists call them dinosaurs,” said The Pope.
“I would like to see this Dragon Earth!” said Deathmask with a look of restrained, and almost manic excitement.
Aphrodite scoffed under his breath.
“That is why I summoned you here. I will be sending you three to collect these Dragon Balls for me.”
“What can they do?” said Shura.
“A local I questioned says when one collects all seven, they can summon a magical dragon that can grant the summoner any wish.”
Deathmask stifled a laugh, “like a genie in a lamp!?” One stare from The Pope’s empty mask made Deathmask’s arrogant smirk disappear.
“Apparently there is more truth to the rumor than mere legend…” said The Pope, holding up a round, white device with a black screen which he then tossed to Shura.
“Where did you get this?’ said Shura.
“A young scientist’s daughter, the girl is quite brilliant herself. She has devoted her young life inventing this device to track down the magical spheres. If there is only an inkling of possibility these Dragon Balls can do what the locals and legends claim, it is worth every resource to seek them out and find the truth for ourselves,” said The Pope.
“And what would you wish for?” said Aphrodite.
CHAPTER 1 - SAIYAN ASSASSIN VS. SILVER ASSASSIN
Dragon Earth Age 749 / December 12, 1985
"So, the creatures on this planet are still alive. Kakarot has failed us," Raditz said to himself when he noticed a human with some kind of primitive, and obviously weak weapon pointed at him.
"You're on my property," said the farmer, hoisting his shotgun towards the tall, long-haired intruder.
"Is that so?" Raditz said checking his scouter. "Hmm... your power level is puny. Hah. Level five.
"Don't you come any closer! Look, I'll use this thing!" said the farmer before firing the shotgun.
Raditz flicked the bullet right back towards the farmer who stumbled back and landed on his behind but not from a bullet wound. Raditz found a tall human of long blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, clad in pink tights under a shining silver armor standing between himself and the human.
"Who the hell are you!?" said Raditz.
The stranger in the silver armor smirked confidently, "Lacerta Misty, and humans are not as fragile a breed of people as you might come to believe," he said showing the bullet in his hand, which he dropped to the ground. Misty then glanced back to the frightened farmer, "I would leave if I were you..." The frightened farmer nodded and rushed off.
Raditz laughed aloud. "Is that a fact!? Just because you caught your own weak weapon, doesn't mean I'm impressed by you! Let's see you catch one of mine..." Raditz said extending his hand over his head, forming a white sphere of energy. "Keep your eyes on the birdie..."
"All right..." said Misty, smiling confidently.
Raditz yelled and fired the blast towards Misty, but it flew past Misty, striking the farmer in the back and killing him as he cried out in a fiery explosion. Raditz looked perplexed by the result. "You can move in the speed of light...?" said Raditz.
"Hardly... I am a silver saint, and I move at Mach 5, five times faster than a speeding bullet. You monkeys only think you move at light speed. You are grossly mistaken," Misty said to a shocked Raditz.
"Monkey!?" cried Raditz, clenching his fist, "I'll show you, pretty boy! You may be fast, but you look like a girl, and I doubt you can take a punch!"
"We'll never know, I've never been struck in my entire life," Misty said.
"Then you've only fought weaklings, and it's time I showed you how it felt to be hit in the face!" cried Raditz, charging the silver saint with a flurry of punches that the elegant, slender silver-clad warrior avoided with ease, moving his arm from either side of the large brute warrior's fists, his cape and long hair swaying from right to left. "You can't dodge forever!" cried Raditz, rearing back his fist and fired directly at Misty's face when it seemed the human could no longer dodge, but his fist came to an abrupt stop before Misty's face, several inches shy of hitting him, like he had struck an invisible barrier. Raditz saw Misty's hands in front of him with his palms stretched out. "What the hell is this!?" cried Raditz, trying to push his fist past the invisible barrier.
"Such a brutish attack could never penetrate my Air Shield. I've wasted enough time on you," Misty said as an ominous white aura surrounded his body, and his using two fingers to create a violent wind swirl that swept Raditz up into the air screaming. Raditz powered up to try to fly out of the wind swirl, but Misty's intensifying cosmos overwhelmed Raditz, launching him into the heavens and violently back down into the farmlands face first in a large explosion, create a crater not far from where his Attack Ball landed. Misty lowered his arms, surrounded by his white cape as he looked in direction where he sent the Saiyan to his grave. "If that was my only obstacle, Pope was right to send me, and me alone. Now... to find Capsule Corporation," Misty said flaring up his cosmos, and took off towards the city.
In the crater, Raditz lay face down in the dirt, bloodied, broken, and his Saiyan armor cracked. "Unbelievable... a Saiyan warrior beaten by girl-looking human... maybe this is why Kakarot failed... but I won't fail... I can't fail... they would never let me live it down," Raditz said pushing his hands into the ground of the crater to push his bloodied face up out of the gravel.
Meditating in front of a waterfall, Piccolo's eyes suddenly open as looks skyward with a scowl on his face. "This could be a problem..." he mutters under his breath.
KAME ISLAND
Goku and Gohan were bidding their goodbyes to Bulma, Master Roshi, and Krillin on a warm Sunday evening when the sea brought in more than seashells and seaweed. It brought a tall stranger in silver armor and a cape. Bulma was immediately struck by his beauty as Goku, Krillin, and Master Roshi looked on skeptically.
"Who are you?" said Roshi, "and how did you get to my island?" he said looking around for boats.
"Maybe he can fly, or he rode in on a magical unicorn from the looks of him," Krillin said sarcastically.
"I am Lacerta Misty, and you mustn't worry about me disrupting your party. I just want her..." Misty said pointing at Bulma.
Young Gohan looked up at Bulma and blinked.
"You want me!?" she squealed, head over heels as Misty smiled charmingly.
Krillin looked sideways at Bulma in disbelief. "Really? He looks like a girl..."
"Shaddup!" cried Bulma, knocking Krillin over the noggin, knocking him face in the sand with a big lump. "Princes in fairytales are always handsome if not a little bit effeminate! It goes with the territory!"
"Aren't you dating Yamcha?" said Goku, to which Bulma scoffed.
"Yes... you are as beautiful as you are intelligent, and you hold the key," Misty said.
"The key?" said Roshi.
"The key to your heart!?" said Bulma.
"He wants the Dragon Balls!" cried Piccolo, hovering above the island with his white cape billowing in the wind.
"Piccolo!?" cried Goku, Roshi, and Krillin in shock and anger. Bulma shrieked and immediately hugged a confused Gohan.
Misty looked up at the green man in disgust, "first the one one with the monkey tail, and now a green space man? This Earth truly is peculiar..."
Goku gasped, "monkey tail!? Do you mean me!?"
Misty looked towards Goku, "no, one like you, your brother..."
"Brother!?" cried Goku, Krillin, Roshi and Bulma.
"Trust me, I did you a favor in killing him, because he was coming to kill you," Misty said.
"You killed my brother...?" Goku said, not knowing how to feel about it.
"So, you want the Dragon Ball Radar, that's why you want Bulma," Master Roshi said eyeing the stranger as Bulma's facial expression changed.
"So, you're a telepath," Misty said eyeing the green man, "I'll have to eliminate you like I did the other..."
Krillin leaned over to Goku, "this guy eliminated Piccolo? Maybe he ain't so bad after all, eh?" he said nudging his best friend.
"I'm not so sure about that..." Goku said staring at Misty whose attention was solely on Piccolo.
"You mean you're upset he killed your brother? Did you even know you had a brother?" Krillin said.
"No, I'm searching this guy's feelings and getting nothing but bad vibes..." Goku said.
"Give it your best shot, but before I kill you, tell me why you want the dragon balls," Piccolo said.
"You needn't know..." Misty said closing his eyes, a white aura flared around him, and a gust of wind picked up around Piccolo before sweeping him skyward as he cried out. Misty did not even move an inch before the gust drove Piccolo through a palm tree and directly into the ocean as Goku, Master Roshi, Krillin, and Bulma all looked on in terror.
"He just... beat Piccolo without lifting so much as a finger, and I'm not sure that's good news for us!" cried Krillin as Goku clenched his fists.
"It doesn't have to be bad news for you..." Misty said turning back to Bulma and the others, "I just eliminated your two biggest threats. I am a warrior of justice, that should suffice you assisting me, should it not?" Misty said extending his hand towards Bulma.
"Sorry... I can't help!" Bulma said hugging Gohan.
"Can't, or won't?" Misty said.
"You heard her," Goku said.
"Kindly leave my island," said Roshi as he and Goku stood before Bulma.
"Yeah... and thanks for killing Piccolo!" Krillin said, trying to ease the tension.
"The green space alien isn't the only one who can read minds..." Misty said closing his eyes as he smiled, "I'm disappointed that your little reunion must now end in bloodshed."
Goku immediately entered a fighting stance as Master Roshi stiffened and Krillin entered a more hesitant, defensive stance. Misty extended his fingers, sweeping Goku, Master Roshi, and Krillin in a powerful gust as they all cried out. Krillin crashed through the roof, Roshi landed in the water and Goku crashed into the sand violently as Bulma shrieked and Gohan cried out. Misty used the two fingers to rip Gohan out of Bulma's arms and cast him aside as Bulma fell back. Misty then noticed the boy's hat as it fell off his head, and raised his fingers, making both the hat and Bulma fly to him. He caught the hat in one hand, and Bulma under his free arm as she gasped. "This is convenient, the kid has one of them..." Misty said ripping the 4-star ball off the hat.
"Let me go!" cried Bulma, pounding his arm.
"Fighting will only lead to your death, woman, if you cooperate, I will let you live," Misty said.
"Really...?" she said.
"Give me the radar to track down the remaining spheres," Misty said.
"Fine! I have it back home..." she said in defeat.
"Capsule Corporation..." Misty said, burning his cosmos, and took off like a shooting star as Bulma shrieked.
"Bulma!" cried Goku, extending his hand skyward as Gohan cried while Krillin lay upside down inside a dresser, and Roshi walked out of the ocean. "I have to go after her..." Goku said pushing himself up. "Nimbus!" he cried, summoning the magical flying cloud as Krillin walked out of the wreckage of Kame House.
"You're going to need my help..." Picccolo said floating out of the ocean, covered in seaweed.
Goku saw Piccolo and scowled as Krillin seemed hesitant.
"You saw how powerful that guy is, and I think there are more like him... he used a power we've never even sensed, and were powerless against," Piccolo said. "If he gets the dragon balls, it could spell doom for all of us. I don't like it any more than you do," Piccolo said.
"Krillin... can you take Gohan home for me?" Goku said.
"Of course, Goku..." Krillin said approaching Gohan as he cried.
"I want my dad!" cried Gohan.
"It's ok, I'm going to take you to your mom, all right, buddy?" Krillin said picking up Gohan who sniffled and nodded. "Be careful, Goku..." Krillin said.
Goku nodded, and looked at Piccolo, "good thing we know where he's headed, we would have a hard time tracking him," he said jumping onto Nimbus.
"This changes nothing, Goku... once this guy and whoever he's working with are dead, I am coming after you," Piccolo said turning west.
"Right," Goku said smirking and took off on Nimbus after Piccolo, trailing the Silver Saint.
"You think Goku can trust Piccolo?" Krillin said looking at Roshi who watched Goku leave with Piccolo.
"They have no choice, I sense a greater power at play here," Master Roshi said as Krillin gritted his teeth nervously.
CHAPTER 2 - RADITZ VS. LAUNCH
Launch was riding her hover bike through the desert when she came across a crater, and saw a man with large hair, and a monkey tail like Goku crawling out. "This looks interesting... he's dressed expensive," Launch said smirking, parked the bike, and dismounted as she pulled out her machine gun and could see the guy was obviously injured. Launch approached him, looked inside, saw a spaceship and gasped. "You're from outer space!?" she said.
Raditz heard the voice, scowled and glanced back to see the blonde woman with the gun, "another Earthling..." he said pushing himself to his feet.
"That's right," Launch said pointing her machine gun at him, "I don't care if you're hurt, that ship looks expensive and I know you must have some valuables, hand it over!"
Raditz smirked weakly, "you're not the first human to point a gun at me today, but I guarantee you woman, you'll be the last... even hurt, you can't hurt me, but I will kill you."
Launch scowled, "let's see... I never think that far ahead!" she said pulling the trigger, and unloaded a round of bullets.
Raditz closed his eyes as the bullets ricochetted off his face, and chest armor, and only flinched before opening his eyes to glare at Launch who gaped. "My turn..." Raditz said raising his arm and started forming a white ball of energy in his palm. "Keep your eyes on the birdie, pretty bird..."
Launch gasped, and reached for a grenade on her belt, "if I'm going down, I'm taking you down with me!" she said biting down on the pin of the grenade when she saw the man suddenly slip on the edge of the crater and fell back inside as he fired the energy ball skyward. Launch stared blankly as she only heard the grunt, and loud crash. She then realized she was holding a live grenade in her hand, smirked, and tossed it into the crater before taking cover as it exploded, and Raditz cried out. Launch felt the dust falling around her, some debris, then got up and dusted off her yellow shorts as she smirked proudly, "that worked perfectly
